God Has Not Given Up on You Yet; Don’t Give Up on Yourself

Why do you think God will easily give up on you?

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool” (Isaiah 1:18, KJV).

Some of the exceptional qualities of God include patience, longsuffering, and the ability not to easily lose hope or give up, most especially on people.

And this is consistent with His nature of Love. 1 John 4:8 says that God is love; and 1 Corinthians 13:7 (NLT) says “Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance”; Verse 4a also says that love is patient.

Another reason why God does not easily give up on people is that He always sees beyond the present/immediate. He usually sees sense in every nonsense. And He usually sees possibilities in every impossibility.

While Gideon was hiding away from the Midianites in fear, God was seeing a mighty man of valor in him (Judges 6:11–12); and time proved Him right. While Saul (who later became Apostle Paul) was busy persecuting the Church; God was seeing a mighty evangelist and apostle in him, and time proved Him right.

I don’t know how bad you have been or for how long you have been battling with certain bad habits and lifestyles; but I want you to know that God is not mad at you; that He has not given up on you and that He is seeing a saint in you. God hates sin but loves the sinner.

In the Scripture above, He said “Come now, and let us reason together. Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be white as snow…”. God’s arms are always stretched forth waiting for you to return; please don’t allow guilt and self-condemnation to stop you.

What I want you to do is not to become comfortable with those sins, and never to give up trying to change or to become better. Also, always be quick to repent and ask God for Mercy as soon as you sin.

Also, remain prayerful and maintain consistent fellowship with fellow brethren. If Saul (who later became Apostle Paul) could become one of the greatest evangelists and apostles that walked through this earth, then I can’t fully describe what you can become in the hands of God. You wait and see. SHALOM.
