The breeze blows through the bedroom window as I write, billowing out the curtain. It dances to the will of the wind, not stiff obedience but soft surrender.

Jesus told Nicodemus that God’s Spirit is like the wind. We can’t see it or predict which direction it’s coming, but we know its Presence when it touches us.

I want to be like these curtains: soft and supple, pliable, willing to yield, open to change, joyful in surrender, sharing a dance with a trusted partner, flowing in harmony.

The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit. (John 3:8, NIV)

Dear Lord, let it be so…
