How to Keep Your Anger from Controlling You
A look at emotions and lack of control from Ephesians 4:26
Anger.. a land mine of Satan
You may not see it until you step on it. Then…Boom!
“Be angry [at sin — at immorality, at injustice, at ungodly behavior],
yet do not sin ;
do not let your anger [cause you shame, nor allow it to] last until the sun goes down.” (Ephesians 4:26, AMP)
I have written about this verse before.
When You are at Your Wit’s End, What Do You Do?
When things pile up and when emotions build what can you do?
I used to step on those landmines often
My anger would burst forth. I would yell. Slam doors.
I would ask questions such as,
“Why doesn’t he understand ME? Why can’t I do that? No one understands ME.”
Do you see the “I” statements?
Thank the Lord, He came and wrestled me to the ground on this one.

A lesson on communication with God and others
“Get a grip, Janis, it’s not about you. It’s about loving Me and loving others.”
So please, if you are angry with anyone, go to God and ask forgiveness.
You don’t have to like what someone said, but you still have to love the person.
Ida Adams wrote an amazing post about how anger can sneak up on anyone — at any time.
We are children of God. Let’s act like it.
May I pray for you and me?
Lord, we tend to let our emotions and our “Mes” rule our lives. Help us to let You rule instead. Help us to keep focused on You, and You alone. Help us to remember to let You guide us, teach us and be our strength and shield. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
