How to Recognize Authentic Diversity

Why are we so lousy at cultural diversity?

Humans have it rough. We are the only animals in this galaxy, that we know of, who are expected to practice diversity.

Once upon a time, we had it easy just like all the other animals. God made us and said, “Have fun, kids. All you gotta do is have babies and look after my critters. But leave the God stuff to me.”

The “look after my critters” part put us in charge of the fauna and flora.

But, nooo. It wasn’t enough to have dominion over the whole planet. Nooo, we had to dabble in playin’ God. We messed up big time, and now we have to work at it. We brought it on ourselves.

Now we have to read and think and make laws and break laws and we’re still arguing about who’s boss.

Fast forward to the last couple of hundred years, and up pops stuff like cultural diversity.

Before we had the ability to travel, we usually died in the herd we were born into. We didn’t know if life was fair because nobody had a camera.

There was no such thing as cultural diversity. Now, every day, one group objects to yet another group having it easier than they do.

They don’t look right.

They don’t act right.

They don’t think right.

They don’t smell right.

Yet they get breaks we don’t get.

When are we going to learn?!

God created authentic diversity. He loves it. He didn’t intend for us to be the same. I can’t explain that without running off down a rabbit hole that will take 30,000 words to dig my way out of. So let's just say our Creator would no more enjoy sameness in people than He would enjoy uniformity in flowers.
