The douglas fir
From a seed
grew that tree
Looking up
I could see
The enormity of that feat!
From ages past
the douglas fir
had stirred the soil
from a tiny birth
For ages now (800 years)
that seed grew tall
It dwarfs the plants
the people all
From small beginnings
big things grow
We need to wait
It might be slow
Have faith
Remember that mustard seed
It grew a plant
That’s big indeed
