And Does He Have Feelings?

Yes! The Holy Spirit is a Person and He does have feelings. His feelings even resemble those of us as individuals and as parents.

At church on Sunday, my minister explained how the Holy Spirit can be grieved, vexed, resisted, lied to, tempted, blasphemed, and quenched.

He can be Grieved

Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

We can grieve the Holy Spirit by our lifestyle, the language we use, and the way we think.

He can be Vexed

Psalm 78:41 Again and again they put God to the test; they vexed the Holy One of Israel.

The Holy Spirit can feel annoyed and angry based on disappointment. He can be vexed because of His relationship with us.

He can be Resisted

Acts 7:51 “You stiff-necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit!

We can push back and rebel against the Holy Spirit when He tries to guide and lead us.

He can be Lied To

Acts 5:3 Then Peter said…
