It’s Not Luck, It’s God!

He orchestrates behind the curtain

In my school fellowship, I had the honor of serving as the Drama coordinator. Each year, we held a powerful event known as Drama Night. We decided to change the venue for this year’s event, and after obtaining the necessary permissions from the school authorities, we were all set.

The day before Drama Night, we visited the new venue to ensure it was in proper condition. To our surprise, we found performing arts students using the hall for their rehearsals, and the stage decorations they had created were stunning. We approached one of the decorators and expressed our desire to use their designs for our church program, Drama Night.

The decorator agreed but requested an amount of money that was beyond our budget. We decided that if they couldn’t meet us halfway, we would have to let them destroy the designs and proceed without them.

On the day of the program, scheduled to begin at 4 pm, we arrived earlier to clean the hall and pray. To our amazement, the stage designs were still intact. We attempted to contact the decorators to dismantle the setup, but they were nowhere to be found. With no other option, we prayed and decided to use the stage as it was, hoping everything would work out.

We didn’t have the resources to create a new stage design, so we relied on faith. Eventually, the decorators returned, and after pleading with them, they granted us permission to use everything they had set up, recognizing it would benefit the program.

Despite the delays and challenges, the program turned out wonderfully. People from other fellowships were impressed with the stage’s beauty, and I attributed it all to God’s grace.

This reminded me of Romans 8:28, (NIV) which says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Sometimes, what may seem like luck or chance is God orchestrating events for our benefit. And, to experience His promises, we must align our lives with His will and genuinely love Him, not just in words, but through our actions.

God bless you.
