Jesus Loves You, This I Know

We all know the song, “Jesus Loves Me, This I Know.” We sing it and teach it to our children, but how many times have you questioned it?

Have you ever found yourself at a place where you doubted God’s love for you? Have you ever encountered a problem in your life where God didn’t appear to be there to help?

Yet we still sing the song, we still believe it is accurate, and we still pray. Or at least I hope you do.

An unknown Psalmist shares some great comfort with us from things he learned along his journey in Psalm 147.

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3, ESV).

God wants to heal your broken heart

He reminds us that God heals broken hearts. There are many today who face broken hearts regularly. People let us down, and our circumstances may not be pleasant, but God is there to heal.

We often go through bitter experiences like the Hebrews when they left Egypt and crossed the Red Sea. They were without water for three days, and then they came to the bitter water of Marah. It was there that we learn about a new name for God — Jehovah Rophe, The Lord that Healeth.
