Blessed be the Lord who daily carries us. God is our deliverer. (Psalm 68:19, ISV)

Can submission to God provide relief? How can submission, a synonym of defeatism, be synonymous with a victory of freedom?

Most people feel that being independent would be freeing. The reality is that in the process of becoming independent, we become more dependent on ourselves.

Let’s face it. We make mistakes, we lack willpower, and our moods and outside influences easily persuade us. Magnifying the “me” places us on a precarious pedestal of the harshest self-scrutiny. This does not bring relief: It only brings disappointment, doubt, and low self-worth.

Self-control is confining.

True freedom is

  • When we relinquish our control to God-control.
  • When we give God our burdens, the weight will be placed on His shoulders. He will solve them with His unlimited knowledge.
  • When we relinquish our self-dependence to God-dependence, He loves us more than we love ourselves.

Allow Jesus to deliver and carry you. Only He can provide victorious freedom.

Prayer

Father, I give you my egotistical load of self-reliance. I am sorry I took so long to release it. Thank you for providing relief through Jesus Christ. Amen.
