Put on a happy face

Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do. (Ecclesiastes 9:7, NIV)

On one of our family trips, we stopped at a lake for a swim. When Dad emerged from the water with bright green hair, we giggled. When he announced that he would return to the water to wash it out, we laughed so hard our sides hurt.

Could our Christian family learn to have joy, laughter, and jubilation?

The Bible says,

We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the LORD has done for them.” (Psalms 126:2, NLT)

Following Christ is serious, but Jesus never told us to serve him with a sour face and bad attitude. Who would want to follow Jesus if we constantly gripe, complain, and scowl?

The world is watching us.

Let the illumination of His love be evident on your face. A person in love has a face that glows. Are you glowing? Are you in love with Christ?

Prayer:

Lord, help my countenance to show the amazing things you do for me.
