Living in a world of lies

So these are two things that don’t change, because it’s impossible for God to lie. He did this so that we, who have taken refuge in him, can be encouraged to grasp the hope that is lying in front of us. (Hebrews 6:18, CEB)

The lyrics to the Billy Joel song “Honesty” speak of how we yearn to get the truth, but it’s hard to find. Honesty is a very lonely word because no one is completely truthful. People we love lie to us, political parties, teachers, ministers, and world leaders lie, and we even lie to ourselves.

Is there no hope of finding honesty?

There is hope when we look in the right direction. The only place where you will find truth is at Jesus' feet. He is as close as a prayer. We know He will be honest because . . .

God cannot and will not lie.

Prayer:

Jesus, you say you are the way…the TRUTH…and the life. Today, I am blindly trusting you.
