As a father pities his children, So the Lord pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. (Psalm 103:13–14, NKJV)

The hand of God reached down and scooped up the earth. This dirt had minerals and organic matter, and maybe even some gold, silver, or diamond dust in its particles.

He formed humans in His likeness. The soil infused with God’s DNA was incubated not in a woman’s womb but in God’s hands. He blew into the nostrils, His breath filling man’s lungs for the first time. Man came to life at that moment.

God gives us life, but then provides a way for us to have abundant and life everlasting. God does not hate us when we fall into sin; He pitied us. Our Father knows our bodies deteriorate with time. He knows that our physical body of dust will eventually die and return to dust.

He has sympathy for us and provides a cure from the sickness of sin.

The cure is His Son. Through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our souls are made whole, well, spotless, with life everlasting.

Dust by itself is lifeless, but in the masterful hands of the Creator God, the earth comes to life. Our soul has life by His very breath. Though we die and this place may never remember us, He never forgets.

From nothing, He made something beautiful. . .you!

Prayer:

I sing my blessings to you, oh Lord, and remember all the benefits you give through your compassion. Amen.
