Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37, NIV)

The crowd was astonished at the teaching of Jesus. No matter how diligently the Pharisees and the Sadducees tried to test Jesus, they could not stop the power of His love.

Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” (Matthew 22:34–36, NIV)

Jesus’ answer was to love God and love others.

The true motive of these scholars did not thwart the powerful weapon of love. Jesus saw through their evil attempts. He sets a righteous snare for them.

What do you think about the Messiah? Whose son is he? (Matthew 22:42, NIV)

He still asks us this question today.

The Pharisees and the Sadducees were left speechless. Our lesson is this: Don’t test, quarrel, or give an answer that reveals limited knowledge.

It’s simple. . .Jesus is the Messiah, and He is love.

Prayer:

Lord, I choose you, knowing that love always wins!
