“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; …” (Matthew 6:25, NIV)

If you take pride in being proactive, this injunction from Jesus seems irresponsible. Yet, it is a key to emotional and spiritual well-being.

Let us replace futile worrying about our situations with fervent worship of a faithful, loving God. He will supply all our needs from his limitless resources.

Watching the sunbeams slip in between the curtains to announce a new day makes me thankful. I have a choice to feed my anxieties or feed on God’s promises.

“Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” (Matt. 6:27, NIV)

Although I can't, I will have faith in God, who can.
