Lord, Help my Unbelief
A confession
Every new journey brings us new, seemingly insurmountable challenges.
Every new challenge the Lord brings our way is an opportunity to grow in faith and learn to trust Him more.
Even when we feel like we are walking close to Him, He sometimes shows us that our reliance is on ourselves. I confess that I still have a lot to learn in this regard, and this is how He is teaching me.
A few days ago, my friend and co-laborer in this Anchored journey, Tad, called me with some exciting news. His tone turned more serious after sharing his news and chatting by phone. “I have one more thing I wanted to talk about.” He said. The seriousness of his tone informed me that we had messed up somehow.
“Something has been bothering me, and I have felt convicted about it, and I thought it best to bring it up, and we can deal with it.”
“Ok,” I said, “What’s on your mind?”
“The last two times we have met to plan and work on things for Anchored, we didn’t pray. We didn’t pray before or after. Now, I know that we are both praying about this separately. Still, I think we should devote more prayer to this process because you and I are driven people prone to get ahead of God and what He is doing and where He is leading. I know He wants us to start Anchored…
