Stooping So Low
The posture of a loving father
He bends down to look at the skies and the earth. The Lord lifts the poor from the dirt. He takes the helpless from the ashes. (Psalms 113:6-7, ICB)
Other versions of this scripture, describe God as “stooping low”.
Stooping low, could also mean lowering one’s standard to the level of another, majorly to the detriment of the higher person.
How could a God so big, bend over really low?
So low, to interact with a creature as tiny as me.
It simply describes his lovingkindness and his humility,
His ability to truly wear my shoes, and know where it pinches.
His quest to sort me out of my mess, and clean me up, Just like a little baby.
If God stoops so low to meet us….
Can we then, stretch forth to receive him halfway or less?
