The Call To Repentance
Embrace Christ and forsake all else
“Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ…” (Philippians 3:8, NIV)
As we start this day, let’s heed the call to repentance, for God’s kingdom is here. Reflect on the sins we have hidden away, the ones we were too dishonest to admit, too sorrowful to repent from, and too afraid to expose.
What were we truly afraid of? Were we worried about people’s opinions or the potential loss of relationships? Remember, all of that is worthless compared to the excellence of knowing Christ.
This morning, let us resolve to cling to Christ with all our strength. In doing so, we can be assured that He will never forsake us.
