This Narrow, Difficult Path

“Narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (Matthew 7:14 NKJV)
I often ask myself why is everything so difficult? Why can’t I have a season of calm? I finally know the answer: because I have chosen the narrow path.
Every day that I travel this road will be difficult and full of troubles. Jesus guarantees that in John 16:33. And I’ve decided it’s okay. I have chosen the narrow path that leads to life.
Praise God that He walks this difficult road with me — before me, behind me, and beside me.
He holds me up when I am weak. He shelters me when I am cold. He fights my battles when I am afraid. Yes, I have chosen the narrow path, and I embrace the troubles along the way.
