What Does Love Have to Do With It?

Why love is needed more than ever in this world

Each morning I have been reading a scripture verse from YouVersion

I read through various versions of the Bible. Then I ask God to show me what is relevant for me for that day. It changes. God’s Word is so powerful that He speaks differently to me through the same scripture.

“For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)

Today I looked at Psalm 103:13

Psalm 103 is a glorious Psalm of God’s love.

From the Amplified, Psalm 103:13,

“Just as a father loves his children,

So the Lord loves those who fear

and worship Him [with awe-filled respect and deepest reverence].”

I studied this passage this morning in light of God’s love as our Father

I looked at His compassion.

In Malachi, God states,
“They will be mine,”

God’s words for His people

Adopted — Ephesians 1:5
Children of God — 1 John 3:1
Treasured possession,
Royal priesthood,
Chosen people,
Holy nation,
Belonging to God — Malachi 3:17

That’s a tiny sample of God’s love for us.

It’s a two-way street

But this love needs to be reciprocal.

How much do we love God?

A relationship is a state of being connected.

Connect

Connect with God today.

What other relationships do you need to build or fix?

Love will help you to do that.

As our Father loves us, we are called to love Him and others

Work at that today.

Message me for prayer.

May I pray for you and me?

Lord, we are called to connect with You. We are Your children. Help us to do that. Teach us to pray. Teach us to love each other as You love us. Thank You for loving us. Thank You for reaching out and adopting us as sons and daughters. Help us to realize that You chose us. And for that reason, we need help learning to how to show this love by worshipping you. And how to show this love by loving others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Blessings
