What To Do In the Gap
Be patient, God has a plan
Have you ever heard from God?
If you interact with God through prayer and Bible study, chances are you have. God answers our prayers, that’s one of His many promises to us in the Bible. And though God answers our prayers He doesn’t always answer them with a yes. Sometimes His answer is “No”.
God’s “No’s” can be devastating, that’s for sure. However, in time we forget our disappointment and we’re off running our race again. The real challenge comes when God’s answer is “Wait!”. Has this ever happened to you? It’s happened to me and it left me frustrated and hanging in mid-air.
How do we plan our next steps when God says “Wait”?
My real-life example
Years ago God gave me this Word, “Be still and know that I am God” from Psalm 46:10. I first heard it in my spirit while praying, then the same verse showed up during my devotion time the next day. At church the next weekend my pastor spoke on these very words. To me, there was no denying I had heard from God.
I’ve since learned that to be most sure the words we hear are from God, they should pass these tests:
- Does it line up with the truth of the Bible?
