The NFTNYC2023 Game Jams hackathon officially concluded on Monday, and it was an insightful journey! We’ve gained valuable knowledge and are excited for future hackathons. While none of the hackers wound up satisfying the criteria of the hackathon, we still think the event was a success in terms of increasing awareness of Koinos and providing valuable insights for future developer engagement efforts.

Recap

Koinos participated in Games Jam, an NFTNYC Web3 Gaming hackathon with 150 hackers. The community generously donated 17,736 KOIN, and Koinos Group matched the funds. After paying the entry fee, 23,473.54 KOIN remains for future incentives.

None of the hackers wound up submitting code that met the hosts criteria, so they agreed we should retain the prize pool and use it to further benefit developers.

Bounties

Instead of waiting for another hackathon, we propose putting some of these funds toward a bounty, perhaps on a platform like DoraHacks (one of the hosts of the hackathon).

Let us know in the comments what you think and if you have any specific apps you would like to see built on Koinos!
