Koinos Dev Update: V4 Here We Come!
We made a lot of progress last sprint so this sprint we were able to quickly close the remaining 13 story points needed to complete version 0.4.0 of the Harbinger testnet!
Our goal with V4 was for it to be a feature complete version of mainnet to make mainnet testing as thorough as possible. That’s why those 13 points were associated with the smart contract development work for token claiming including all the code necessary to incorporate the ERC20 snapshot into the genesis block and enable KOIN holders to claim their tokens.
To be clear, with the launch of V4, Harbinger will be a complete version of Koinos mainnet with all the features that will make it the world’s first truly free-to-use, truly decentralized, and truly evolving L1.
We have been running V4 internally for several days now — producing blocks using proof-of-burn — and so far the blockchain has been performing as expected! That means we should be able to relaunch the testnet very soon, so be sure to follow Koinos on Twitter, join the telegram, and you’re definitely going to want to join the discord server because we have something special planned for this relaunch ;).

Now that all the work needed to launch V4 is complete, we are primarily focused on updating documentation so that people have all the information they need to run a node, test out the token claiming process, and then produce blocks by burning test KOIN!
