Six ways to make the most of Sunday’s extra hour

At 2:00am (GMT) on Sunday 25th October, twenty four hours becomes twenty five. The signalling of cooler, shorter, cosier days is almost upon us, and that extra hour in bed is very nearly here. To help make the most of this precious extra hour, we have come up with seven glorious ways to spend it. Spoil yourself.

Breakfast in bed

Indulge in some fluffy, seasonal pancakes, the Sunday paper and a steaming mug of fresh coffee. If you can persuade someone to bring it all to you, even better.

Morning movie

The extra hour is the perfect amount of time to treat yourself to a morning movie. Pile up the pillows, grab your tablet and settle down for a visual feast with one of these classics.

Start a new book

Find your perfect reading position and hunker down for an hour of literary bliss flicking through the pages of one of these must- reads.

Discover some new music

Long, Sunday mornings were made for the papers, food and good music. Discover something new to brighten up the darker commutes with the Mercury Prize 2015 shortlisted albums of the year

Morning exercise

Explore a new part of town or revisit forgotten gems with some early morning exercise. Be it a cycle, run or casual stroll, get outside, breathe in the crisp autumn air and then reward yourself with a hearty, warming breakfast.

Sleep in
