Overview

As we prepare the opening of our platform’s test net and the eventual release of the MVP, we’d like to share a key aspect that is integrated into Kollect’s ecosystem and will also be available for testing in the initial launch of the platform- the synthesis system.

The synthesis system is a unique aspect within our ecosystem in which users can synthesize multiple cards of the same rarity to attempt to get another card of higher or the same rarity. The synthesis system is broadly categorized into two categories: Blind Synthesis and Open Recipe synthesis. This post will briefly introduce these two synthesis methods and speak on their implications within the ecosystem.

Blind Synthesis

Blind synthesis is a synthesis method where the assets needed are defined by the output result is undefined. As shown in the example above, the assets are defined: Peasant Mandoo and Novice Jelling. Although the possible outcomes are shown, the exact final card is not defined.

By synthesizing a Peasant Mandoo with a Novice Jelling, users will be able to receive one of the following: Happy Mandoo, Excited Mandoo, Happy Jelling, or Excited Jelling.

Open Recipe Synthesis

Open synthesis is a synthesis method where the needed assets and exact output results are defined. As shown in the example above, the needed assets are defined: Shifu, Chinli, and Teti. The exact final card is also defined: Suri.

By synthesizing Shifu, Chinli, and Teti, Kollectors will be able to attain a Suri card.

Why is Synthesis Important?

Synthesis is an integral part of our ecosystem as it provides a way for users to burn their cards with lower-level rarities and receive a card with the same or higher rarity level. Kollectors are no longer solely reliant on unpacking the exact card or cards that they need by purchasing genesis packs.

Synthesis will not only help Kollectors receive higher rarity cards that are inherently more valuable throughout the ecosystem, but they will also provide a way for users to synthesize the exact cards that they need. This will help them to stake and complete their collections, beat opponents in games, and more.

Why Do the Card and Rarity Matter?

There are three main elements in the Kollect ecosystem where the card and rarity will play a role- the Collection Book system, the play-to-earn games, and the marketplace.

Collection Book System

Kollect’s Collection book system is one aspect within its ecosystem that addresses the current NFT market’s lack of utility. It has a unique built-in play-to-earn feature, allowing users to strategically stake their cards in different collection books to earn rewards and yield.

Card rarity matters as it helps determine the amount and number of potential rewards you can receive. Naturally, the higher the card rarity that is staked, the more rewards you will be able to reap. This does not mean that lower rarity cards are not needed. You still need them to complete certain collection books in both the private and public collections.

Kollect Integrated Games

Kollect integrated games are another aspect within its ecosystem that addresses the current NFT market’s lack of utility and also accounts for the card’s rarity. Kollect’s games allow users to actually integrate their Kollect Cards into the games of their choice and gain rewards as it is a play-to-earn model.

The card rarity is a determining factor in the card’s in-game stats. Although stats for NFT cards are somewhat randomized when integrated into games, the higher the rarity of the card, the higher ranged stats it can hold within games. This has a ripple effect as the stronger the NFT character, the easier it becomes to pass the stages and thus reap the relevant rewards.

For example (Not fixed stats):

Attack Stats Range for Common (C) Cards: 1~5

Attack Stats Range for Uncommon (UC) Cards: 3–7

Attack Stats Range for Rare (R) Cards: 5–9

Attack Stats Range for Super Rare (SR) Cards: 7–11

Attack Stats Range for Super Super Rare (SSR) Cards: 9–13

Attack Stats Range for Ultra Rare (UR) Cards: 11~15

Marketplace

The card rarity also matters when you think of its trade value on the marketplace. The rarer the card, the more inherent value it has within the ecosystem. This inherent value doesn’t simply come from being a rarer card, but because of the benefits and utility that a holder can reap depending on how they strategically stake and play with their cards in-game.

The higher the rarity of the card, the more rewards they will be likely to reap in the collection book as well as Kollect’s games.

About Kollect

Kollect is a gamified collection card platform for any branded IPs. Its Collection Book system Kollect.book has a unique built-in play-to-earn feature, allowing users to strategically stake their cards in different collection books to maximize their rewards. Kollect.book enables flexible gamification of collecting activities. The games published by Kollect through Kollect.game are where users can put their collected NFT cards into real actions. Each of the branded IPs can have their own games and in-game currency. The first game in the Kollect ecosystem will be a play-to-earn battle card game with PvP and PvE combat modes. Kollect envisions to become the hub for NFT collectibles and play-to-earn games.
