A few months back we began doing 6-week build cycles in Kolonial.no, where at the end each team presents their outcome with a lowkey demo. This is something we really enjoy, since we are able to share our work and also see what others in the company have been up to. Since we started doing these demo’s remotely over Meet, we also started recording these sessions — and now we want to share some with you!

I was asked if I wanted to kick this off, and I am happy to show you what we have been experimenting with for customers placing their first orders — our new Shopping Assistant.

The problem: To save time and avoid going to the store it’s important to fill up your basket with enough items. This is easier said than done when you’re a new customer in our current offering.

The solution: A shopping assistant that engages the customers by presenting items instead of having to search or navigate, which also adapts based on your preferences using AI. For instance if you mainly select cheaper items, we will weight cheaper items higher for successive listings in the assistant. The shopping assistant is now live and being tested on a treatment group.

Let us know if you like this and want us to share more!
