Wreck League: The first real-time competitive PVP with web3 rewards and a world of customization.

In partnership with Animoca Brands and featuring Yuga Labs as a season one collaborator (with more on the horizon) nWay has announced the release of Wreck League; slated to be the first real-time competitive PVP in the world of web3 featuring complex robots called mechs.

The world of gaming is about to change FOREVER.

The Future Of Gaming Is Here!

Unlike traditional fighting games, Wreck League will enable it’s players to craft and compose their combatant with 10 distinctive digital collectible parts and allowing for over 1.5 quadrillion possible combinations of fighters to encounter in season one alone. With that in mind, we can certainly expect the number of possible “builds” quantify exponentially over time as additional seasons release.

All assembled mechs can be disassembled and used to augment or create new mechs anew and of course, be sold on a marketplace (like OpenSea). The expansive customization system ensures no two mechs will be the same unless by design, enabling a true sense of personalization and play style unlike ever before seen even in most games in the web2 space. As icing on the cake, owners can earn rewards and accolades the more they collect and compete.

Season 1

Season 1 will take place in collaboration with Yuga Labs with the mechanical creations of Wreck League joining the extended “Yugaverse” of Bored Ape & Otherside- the gamified digital world nearing its release. The initial four collections will feature the Kodas, Bored Ape Yacht Club, Mutant Ape Yacht Club, and Bored Ape Kennel Club, with the genesis mint being Kodas. All holders of these collections will be able to claim a free Founders mech, which will not be able to be deconstructed.

Mechs are to be viewed as a collection of skills and stats, with some parts granting basic attack abilities and others special skills that decide your playstyle. The parts chosen to assemble a mech will determine its capabilities in battle, and there are strategic benefits to having different builds optimized for different styles of play.

Initially, Wreck League will begin with 1 vs 1 fights but eventually will evolve to include 3 vs 3 events for which you’ll need multiple mechs to participate, and the more mechs you own, the more opportunities you’ll have to collect rewards and accolades.

Mech Mint Details

The initial mint will feature two types of boxes: Majestic Boxes and Booster boxes, with majestic boxes consisting of 10 random parts that can be used to assemble a new mech from scratch and boosters having 5. With both of the boxes and parts within being digital collectibles they have been categorized into six rarity tiers: common, uncommon, rare, epic, legendary, and Yuga.

Both Majestic and Booster boxes will go on sale at the same time, and both can be purchased at the same time. During the sales phase, the rarity of Majestic and Booster boxes will be hidden to avoid rarity sniping- a practice in which aftermarket buyers bulk purchase high-value collectibles. Upon opening each box, the box itself will be burnt and only the parts inside will remain. However- owners can choose not to open boxes, increasing the scarcity of unopened boxing and ensuring rarity.

Wreck League has announced an eventual expansion to web2 F2P coming later this year, but on the horizon is the exclusive web3 launch. The game can be played via Android, Mac, and PC, with many tournaments and competitions to come, with cross-play functionality enabled.

The Wreck League Vision

Wreck League looks to redefine the world of gaming. Never before have players had the opportunity to receive rewards and incentives such as these; nor experienced such immersive customization and playstyle depth. The Wreck League looks to bring true Esports potential to the space by forming leagues and organizations for players of all skill levels and build types.

Unlike most other games, Wreck League is proud to build with its community- quite literally welcoming all to generate their own content- whether it be lore, art, or music! Community members will be given the tools and platform to showcase their talents and contributions, of all degrees.

In the near future, they will release a community program called the Wreck League Social Club, to reward and encourage co-creation. In the meantime, here’s their Discord.

My thoughts:

Overall, a few things are fairly clear to me:

Wreck League will be unlike any game ever before: With extensive customization opportunities and on-chain rewards and incentives, players will be entering a new world of gaming ushered in with support from blockchain technology.

Don’t sleep on Yuga (Or Apecoin)

Over the course of the recent bear market with the downfall of the values of NFTs at large, many have begun to doubt the leaders of the space (Yuga) and exclaim they’ve left buyers out to dry, with nothing more than jpeg images of monkeys and the promise of an expansive world in Otherside. I’ve closely followed the development of Otherside, and it’s actually incredible what’s being done. They’ve created in-game worlds that players can freely customize and move between, all while supporting high volumes of users on servers atypical to that available in web2 where the largest servers are 300 people, but more commonly 120 and 60 people.

Although quieter than most would prefer, Yuga is making unquestionable moves.

I believe this is a huge move for web3 and games in general with the potential to set a household standard of sorts. The amount of opportunities to generate rewards are endless, and we’ve seen how lucrative it was to invest in the early releases from Yuga. Although a collaboration, Wreck League is a core release of Yuga as it’s first PVP combat game. Sounds like a slice of history it would be wise to partake in! Without the team over at nWay, none of this would be possible- they are the true MVPS.

Follow Wreck League on X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, Medium, join their Discord Server, and join the Wreck League community today!

You’re still early. ;)
