Here’s a list of new features at Koo since December 2022. This is apart from many smaller improvements and bug fixes.

Import Tweets:

Koo enables users to import their Tweets at the click of a button once you link your Twitter account to Koo. This way users are not worried about losing their Tweets.

Favorites:

Users can now ‘Favorite’ an account from their profile or from their following list, to see their posts and notifications on priority.

Quotes:

Many creators write ‘Quotes’ as posts. We have now created an attachment where they can choose from between 3 design templates to write their quote in. The quote converts into a slick image that gets posted as a Koo.

Multiple new languages:

Koo recently launched in 20+ global languages, expanding the languages in which people can post and consume in.

Be kind:

Koo believes in creating a non-toxic environment. Mostly this toxicity shows up while commenting. To further that cause we have created a subtle message on the create screen that says ‘Be kind’. This subtly and sub-consciously pushes someone to be more friendly and less toxic.

Content moderation:

We now have a lot of sophisticated tech around content moderation. We can instantly detect pornography and remove it automatically. We can instantly detect hate speech, toxicity and hide such content. We have a sharp algorithm that detects impersonating profiles and hides them from search and other places on the platform to reduce discoverability.

Upcoming features

Video stories:

Creators will be able to capture a video from the app’s in-built camera and record a story that can be visible to the whole community or the creator’s selected followers. This will help users see some great UGC in the form of stories everyday.

Communities:

We will enable users to create various communities that everyone can be a part of. This will work like open groups that users can post into and consume from for sharp interests.

Private feedback:

To reduce toxicity, it’s important that toxic people are aware. We will be introducing the ‘Private feedback’ feature where under every comment users will have the option to share ‘Private feedback’ with a commenter. A user can select from either positive or negative self-created adjectives like Helpful, Motivating, Kind, Spam, Rude or Toxic. This will help people realize how the community views them and will help them do more of a good thing or stop something negative they do.
