10 Best Coffee Shops in Norman, OK (in no specific order…)
Norman, Oklahoma (home of the University of Oklahoma) has a growing coffee scene with a healthy mix of hipster hideouts, well-lit workspaces, and, of course, PSL slinging Starbucks stores.

Cool Beans
Norman’s first drive-through coffee shop gives you coffee fast, for when you’re on the go! The owner, Nicki, knew Norman needed a drive-through coffee option, so she built it herself! Nicki & her husband built the building, created the business, and she still makes the coffee if you come early on the days she’s in! But Cool Beans is more than just fast coffee, it’s really good too! Does the drive-through model loose the community around the coffee shop? I spent a morning with Nicki in Cool Beans, & I can tell you that, after being sung to by a regular, I don’t believe it does. Different? Yes! Fast? Very! A unique part of Norman’s community definitely! Bonus points to Nicki & her husband for literally building Cool Beans themselves!
Michelangelo’s
Michelangelo’s is Italy, in a coffee shop, in Norman. In classic Italian style, it’s a coffee shop and a wine bar, with Italian food as well. Step off Downtown Norman’s Main Street and into Michelangelo’s red walls, covered with local art, for an ideal study vibe. Michelangelo’s is the place for local business professionals early in the morning, aspiring artists late at night, and students all day long! If you’re just getting back from studying abroad, or if you’re dreaming about going, then try this Italian style hang out. Pro tip: their drink of the month is always good. Also, they have bottomless drip coffee for your long study sessions.
Gray Owl
So hipster it’s not even on main street.
But seriously, this is the place for you, if you are interested in good coffee, bikes hanging from the ceiling, vegan baked goods, or a communal bookshelf.
The Earth
Speaking of vegan, The Earth makes the list because of its coffee quality, but it does much more than coffee too! Find all your earth-friendy snacks & groceries, eat some good food, or just chill on the Earth’s back porch. If you like vegan food, laid back atmospheres, or good coffee, then you’ll love the Earth!
Second Wind Coffeehouse
Secondwind is THE student hangout of campus corner (or “the living room on campus corner” as they say)! Run as a non-profit by student volunteers, Secondwind is the place to go if you want to try something different! Choose your own donation for the coffee you get (or go with the recommended donations), and then hang out in this spacious coffee shop. Alternatively, you could come for an open mic night with everything from poetry to live music!
Crimson & Whipped Cream
Looking for a fun place to study, get some baked treats, or just get coffee with friends on campus corner? Crimson & Whipped Cream has you covered! There are tables, booth seats, and couches, so you can work at whatever pace you want, and there are sweet snacks and even a photo booth so you can take a break when you need it! Crimson & Whipped Cream is also connected to Post Script, so you can get all your writing needs met without walking outside! Truly a gem on Campus Corner!
Stella Nova
Stella Nova is a fairly new coffee shop, making small-batch coffee & serving up a bright, fresh environment. They have 2 locations already and are building 2 more. Unlike other multi-store coffee shops, Stella Nova makes each one unique through store design, their small-batch coffee, and the large working spaces they provide for their communities. If you need a fresh atmosphere, Stella Nova is your coffee shop.
Java Nova
Take a break from shopping at the mall to get coffee, also at the mall! Why not put two of your favorite things closer together. If you’re a mall goer and a coffee drinker, then you probably already know about Java Nova, but this is a little reminder that you don’t need to leave the mall to get some coffee!
The Bookmark
Have you ever dreamed of a Starbucks inside a library? Well, now you have it. The bookmark, inside OU’s beautiful Bizzell Library serves fresh Starbucks coffee next to the new study spaces. Yes, you can get your PSL without leaving campus.

To round out the list, we have to mention that there are official Starbucks stores all around Norman, including one in the student union and one on campus corner. Yes, there are a lot of great local coffee shops on this list, but Starbucks is just so consist.
