스마트 컨트랙트와 BAT 토큰 경제 기반의 효율적인 디지털 광고 플랫폼
Brave 브라우저는 이더리움 스마트 컨트랙트와 BAT를 활용한 토큰 경제를 통해 광고주, 사용자, 퍼블리셔 모두에게 광고를 최적화시킬 수 있습니다. 절차는 다음과 같습니다. 우선, 광고주는 광고를 집행하기 위해 컨텐츠와 광고 대금에 합당한 BAT를 스마트 컨트랙트를 통해 전송합니다. 광고는 사용자들의 관심사에 맞춰 노출되고, 사용자들은 이를 접한 댓가로 BAT를 받게 됩니다. 퍼블리셔는 사용자들이 받아가고 남은 BAT를 퍼블리싱 비용으로 부여 받습니다. 이런 시스템을 통해 다양한 중간자들이 개입된 오늘날의 디지털 광고 시장에서보다 더 효율적인 광고 집행이 가능해지고, 결국 각 참여자들의 수익률이 증가될 수 있습니다. Brave는 이런 Rewards 프로그램을 2018년 6월부터 비공개로 테스트 중이며, 곧 상용화를 앞두고 있습니다.
한편, Brave와 BAT는 JavaScript를 창시하고 웹 브라우저 Firefox를 만든 Mozilla 사를 공동 창업한 경력의 Brendan Eich이 주도하여 개발되었으며, 2016년 1월에 출시된 바 있습니다.

The Basic Attention Token (BAT) is a token used for improving digital advertising and protecting privacy online.
Brave Browser to Give Back Rights to Users
It is almost impossible to surf the web without annoying pop-ups and ads. Users pay more for Internet service and experience longer loading times due to the unwanted ads. On top of that, users’ information is collected for the advertising and data analysis purpose, and users are even exposed to data spill, malware, and hacking attacks. The privacy-centered Brave browser has well over six million monthly active users, and users can select whether to share their interests (attention) and be exposed to ads or not. Although the browser constantly measures user’s attention, this information is completely anonymous and processed by artificial intelligence so as to protect privacy. This enables the Brave browser to serve up advertisements that are most relevant to what users want to see, facilitating effective advertising. Korbit has decided to list Basic Attention Token (BAT), a token used on the Brave browser that aims to improve digital advertising and give users freedom to protect their own data.
Smart Contracts and BAT Token Economy for Effective Digital Advertising
The BAT project combines a new browser, Brave, and a utility token based on the Ethereum, BAT, to create a decentralized online advertising platform that is beneficial for all participants: the user, advertiser, and publisher. Participants in the ecosystem transact with the BAT token: on one side of the exchange, advertisers pay with BAT, and on the other side, publishers and users can earn with BAT. Using smart contracts, advertisers send ads with a token payment in a locked state to users. When a user views the ad, they receive a portion of that token payment. The remainder of the payment goes to the publisher hosting the advertisement. BAT cuts out the middlemen from the advertising process. With the Brave browser, advertising can be conducted more effectively than when it is performed with multiple intermediaries involved, and participants gain a better ROI. It was also recently announced that Brave Rewards — formerly known as Brave Payments — had finished private testing, which started in June 2018, and entered beta testing in preparation for its eventual full-scale rollout.
The Brave browser and Basic Attention Token (BAT) were mainly developed by Brendan Eich, the co-founder of Mozilla and Firefox and the creator of JavaScript, and released in January 2016.
BAT deposit, withdrawal, and trading will be available on PC website and mobile apps from December 11, 2018.
