In 2019 autumn, Arthdal Chronicles Film Set was opened to public for a short while. I happened to be in Seoul during that period of time, so I visited it during my stay.

To get to Arthdal Chronicles Filming Set, take Metro Line 1 to Osan College Station. It is quite far from Seoul city centre, depending on where you start your journey, it may take 1–2 hours to get here. If they open this filming set again next autumn, you can check out the area outside exit 1 with lots of cosmos flowers planted, and a small patch of pink Muhly grass. We took quite of lot of photos there.

Follow map on your phone (I recommend kakao map) to walk there, you can see signs along the way when you get closer to the place.

Korean name for this Filming Set: 드라마아스달연대기 오산세트장

Address in Korean: 경기 오산시 내삼미동 240

It takes about 25 mins of walk to get there, you can also use bus, but they don’t come very frequently.

Registration on the spot was required for visits. We came on a weekday, surprisingly quite a number of people showed up. They even hired a Korean who can speak Chinese to work at the reception.

We arrived right before lunch hour and there was quite a long wait, so we decided to go have lunch first. They gave out coupons for restaurants in Osan for visitors of the film set. We chose to go to a dumpling place close by, just a 15 minute walk. And when we were walking to this place, we realised that the road where the filming set was located is actually named Arthdal Road.

The most famous dish for the dumpling place should be dumpling shabu shabu, we just had plain dumpling with rice cake. I think the food is ok.

After our lunch, we walked back to start our tour.

Basically the visit is mostly outdoors, with the exception of the jewelry workhouse where Tanya took pity on the child labour and tried to make their lives better.

The living place of Saya, the place where Tagon and Eunsom first met, and where Eunsom saw the abundance of gems in the city for the first time, etc.

The whole visit was just about 30 minutes, they allowed visitors a short stop at a few spots for photography.

Because Osan was so far from Seoul, so we thought we should try to see other attractions here, so what sort of attractions are located in this suburb?

According to the tourist information we got from the filming set, attractions close to Osan College Station include Doksanseong Fortress & Semadae, Dolmen Park, Mulhyanggi Arboretum.

Because of the relative proximity, we chose to go to the Dolmen Park. You can get there by bus or by walking. (It is around 30 mins walk, but again the bus is infrequent, so we chose to walk.) There is a 2.5km path for exploration of nearby dolmens, we were a bit tired, so we just checked out the dolmens inside the park.

There were also some gingko and maple trees in the park if you happen to be here in autumn like me.
