Krause House, a sports-focused DAO, has established itself as a leading example in effectively managing decentralized decision-making within decentralized communities.

Through their innovative system, community participation is encouraged, members are empowered to propose projects, and everyone has a voice in decision-making.

Despite the complexities of governing a DAO and challenges in the market, Krause House has successfully navigated obstacles and is now presenting a model to solidify its position further. Although it may not be perfect, they continue to improve it over time.

Krause House has successfully implemented Snapshot, a web3 platform that allows members to create and vote on proposals on-chain. This platform is a key tool in the organization’s decentralized decision-making process.

Here are the steps for proposing a project in Krause House:

  1. Any member of Krause House can propose a project.
  2. The proposal is discussed in the Discord community to gather feedback and suggestions from members.
  3. Once the proposal is ready, it is refined in Notion to ensure that it is clear and concise.
  4. The final proposal is then posted on Snapshot for voting by members.

Krause House uses the token-based voting model, where members use their tokens to cast their votes, and the number of tokens each member has determines the weight of their vote.

By following this process, Krause House ensures that all members have a voice in decision-making,

2023 NYC CS Career Fair KH Booth

This project is about Krause House hosting a booth at the 2023 NYC Computer Science Career Fair, which is an event for high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in computer science.

The booth will showcase web3 and DAOs and explain how they can revolutionize the sports industry. The requested budget is $815, which will cover expenses such as flight, transit, and airport parking. The funds will be managed by Uncle Jon with supervision from Shanny.

The goal of the project is to inform and attract future tech workers to Krause House and web3 contributions by creating an informative booth, showcasing Krause House’s involvement in Big3, OTE, and Karate Combat, and introducing Mochi and Heat Check.

APPROVED proposals ✅

Contributor Funding Request for China Mod (Renewal)

The proposal is a request for contributor funding renewal for the Krause House China mod, with the recipient being tantalum#0845. The amount requested is $250 KRAUSE per month, to be paid monthly for four months.

The Stewardship team and the community have the power to cancel the agreement if it is being abused. The intention is to encourage contributors to take immediate action on a wide range of problems/opportunities.

Create Norm: All kTx Signers should also be Stewards

The proposal suggests creating a norm that all kTx Signers, who are members of Krause House’s transaction team or signers on the multi-sig, should also be Stewards to ensure the highest context possible. Stewards have the most elevated context within the DAO as they validate proposals.

The proposal was made after the USDC depeg, where the kTx team needed to mitigate the treasury’s risk, and it was determined that the highest context members of the DAO are Stewards.

The proposal defines a norm as a principle that guides the direction of the systems and creates flexible and generalized rules to maximize the pursuit of the mission. It is currently undetermined if Stewards should also be kTx Signers.

Grant kTx team new permission to be flexible in stablecoin payouts (USDC, USDT, DAI) via Utopia

This proposal is suggesting that the kTx team should be given permission to choose which stablecoin (USDC, USDT, or DAI) to use for payouts in Utopia.

Previously, the organization only used USDC, but when USDC’s value decreased, it had to use other stablecoins to stabilize the treasury.

This proposal aims to give the kTx team more flexibility in choosing stablecoins to manage the treasury more effectively. This will also allow the organization to pay in stablecoins that are pegged at $1 USD rather than only USDC.

Update kTx Team Roster

The proposal is to update the kTx team roster by removing Eli and adding Shanny as a new member. The kTx team is responsible for creating, validating, and executing transactions on multi-sig treasuries.

The reason for this change is that Eli is unable to commit the necessary time and due diligence for vetting transactions, while Shanny has demonstrated value as a steward and would be an excellent signer on the multi-sig.

Uncle Jon KRAUSE Allocation

This proposal seeks to retrospectively allocate 7500 KRAUSE to Uncle Jon, who had previously agreed to forgo a fixed KRAUSE due to miscommunication between stewards.

The proposal has received 99.06% of votes in favor.

Retainer Budget for NBA Ownership Acquisition Counsel

This proposal requests a budget of $25,000 to retain Hogan Lovells as legal counsel for prospective NBA ownership acquisition transactions.

The proposal notes that having experienced legal counsel ready to support transaction structuring reduces obstacles to quickly closing a deal.

Hogan Lovells is a global law firm with deep experience in sports, particularly in serving both owners and acquirers in the NBA and having close relationships with the league.

The funds will be used to pay the firm’s retainer upon signing an engagement letter with the firm, and that retainer will then be applied strictly to work related to the acquisition of an NBA ownership position.

Lewwwk will manage the relationship in collaboration with Jerrys, who possesses permission to represent KH in negotiations (currently Flex Chapman and Commodore) in an effort to secure an NBA ownership position.

Overall, it appears that the proposal has received strong support from voters, indicating that they believe that retaining legal counsel from Hogan Lovells is necessary and beneficial for Krause House’s efforts to acquire a minority ownership position in the NBA.

Players don’t win championships, DAOs do!

In conclusion, Krause House has demonstrated how DAOs can be managed effectively by creating a transparent, decentralized decision-making process that encourages community participation.

The active and approved proposals show how the organization is committed to growing the community and exploring new opportunities while ensuring that all members have a voice in decision-making.

Krause House DAO is an exciting opportunity for individuals to become part of a decentralized community, where everyone has a voice and can contribute to the decision-making process.

With the potential to revolutionize how organizations are run, DAOs like Krause House offer a new paradigm for collective decision-making and governance.

Whether you’re an experienced blockchain enthusiast or just starting to explore the world of decentralized finance, joining the Krause House DAO can provide a valuable learning experience, as well as an opportunity to be part of a movement that is transforming the way we think about collaboration and leadership.

So come and join us today, create a proposal, contribute to a proposal, vote, and be a part of the revolution!
