There is a new category within the blog and I would like to call it the bucket list. Here I am going to be listing activities to do when in certain countries. This will be activities I have already done or I plan on doing or even those that I think sound wonderful to do. This hopefully will provide a guide when you visit your dream destination. You know what the world is made up of dreamers and creators and am a little bit of both. Our first bucket list features Kenya. This is just the first part, the second one will right up soon.

Swim with dolphins at Watamu.

There is the Watamu marine park in Kilifi County where one gets to interact with the marine life. One can snorkel and even touch the adorable dolphins.

Visit Lamu town and ride the donkeys.

There is the Lamu cultural festival which is an annual event. Here you get to view and taste the best of what Lamu has to offer from the food cuisine to the Arab-inspired architecture. This is also an opportunity for the visitor to have a ride on the donkey.

See the flamingoes of Lake Nakuru.

View of L.Nakuru, Kenya

Nakuru is famous for the greater and lesser flamingoes hence the name Pink City. Here you get the chance to stand by the lake inside the Lake Nakuru Game park and have a closer view of the beautiful birds.

Take a selfie with rhinos of the Ol Pejeta conservatory.
This is your only opportunity worldwide to view the last of the remaining black male rhino. The rhinos are usually under close watch in a secluded sanctuary where you get to view, touch and take photos of the endangered species.

Touch the crying stone at Kakamega or even go round it.
There are various myths associated with the crying stone one being that it crying after its children became scattered around. It is an incredible show of nature as water trickles down the stone with no river or water source nearby on sight. It is a phenomenon that happens throughout the year.

Feed a baby elephant (calf) at the Nairobi national park.
The Nairobi National park, Sherlock’s Den particularly, is a sanctuary for elephants. Most of the elephants are either rescued or moved from other parks where they are at risk of being poached. Here you will get to see a huge number of elephants. If luck is on your side you can take a selfie or two with the elephants.

Climb Mt. Kenya.
Mount Kenya is the highest mountain in Kenya at about 5,199 meters. It is one of the few snow capped mountains I Kenya with three peaks named after the Maasai warriors. That is the Lenana( the highest), Nelion and Batian peaks. Mount Kenya offers a magnificent view with various exotic species of flora and fauna to view. It would also make a perfect magical proposal location.Ask Kate Middleton or Sharon Mundia of thisisess.

Eat the tilapia of Lake Victoria at Kisumu.
If you are a lover of fish then this is definitely one delicacy you would want to try at the lakeside of Kisumu. The fish are harvested from Lake Victoria and you have the pleasure of picking one to be prepared for you.If you want to take your delicacy to a higher notch you can take a boat and eat away your craving as you have a view of Kisumu from the lake.

Ride with the wild at Hell’s Gate.
It is one of the few if not the only Game Park where you can take a bicycle ride around the park. While doing that you are able to view some of the savannah wilds such as impalas and zebras. You have the chance to walk through the gorge and have a splash of water at the devil’s mouth. If your forte is mountain climbing, you are able to do that at the Fisher’s tower under the guidance of a trained personnel.

Explore the caves of Paradise lost.
Apparently, these were the same caves in which the Mau Mau hide during pre-independence. You get to explore the caves and also picnic while viewing the lake.

Dive off the Fourteen Falls at Thika.
This is definitely for those who love the adrenaline rush that comes with extreme sports. The falls are fourteen as seen in the name, you can count them. It is found at Chania river which you can cross over.

Bungee jump and water raft at Sagana River.
Bungee jumping is definitely scary but it is one thing you should definitely risk. The Sagana river offers such an experience. If bungee jumping is off your list, then water rafting is another option. Here you get to feel the force of nature as you enjoy the adrenaline.

So which one have you done or do you plan on doing? I know am planning to do a couple of the listed activities. Also if you have a bucket list you can always share. What other activity should I list in part 2?
