OTC in Chatrooms got even better!
In the previous update, we mentioned that Chatroom now includes a brand new Exchange Rate widget that helps facilitate over-the counter (OTC), peer-to-peer (p2p) cryptocurrency transactions.
Well, it got even better!
The Exchange Rate widget now provides an end-to-end, full user journey for OTC cryptocurrency transactions. Try it out and tell us what you think!
Improved onboarding experience, a follow up
In a recent update, we highlighted the improvements to our wallet’s onboarding and login process that made it smoother and quicker. Here are the metrics we shared:
- Login time for unregistered users decreased to 15 seconds from 25 seconds (40% decrease).
- Login time for registered users decreased to 11 seconds from 20 seconds (45% decrease)
We’ve noticed that this optimization caused a little bit of confusion for some users, who weren’t sure if they needed to do anything with their passwords or key shards. Short answer: you don’t need to do anything — we’ve handled everything for you. For clarity, here’s a more detailed breakdown of the actual changes of the onboarding/login flow:
- Users using key shard backups are automatically logged in to their account provided that enough key shards can be accessed. If key shards are missing or otherwise unaccessible due to the user changing devices or other reasons, only then will the user be prompted to enter their password in order to restore their wallet data.
- New users now have the option to use key shards for wallet backup directly, bypassing the need to set up a password. In such cases, a random, secure password will be automatically generated on behalf of the user.
- Regardless of which method you choose to onboard with, there will be backup reminders during account creation, and again before you logout, to prevent you from potentially getting locked out of your wallet. The details of the backup reminder are mentioned in the previous dev update.

Concerned that friends will see your significant wealth in your wallet and insist you cover lunch? You now have the option to conceal monetary values, displaying innocuous asterisks instead.
Bugfixes and other optimizations
- Improved the user experience for Swap. You can now effortlessly change the “swap to” token without needing to leave the Swap Screen, as it is no longer locked after the initial selection. Also, we fixed a bug where the “swap to” token will sometimes fail to show up.
- Increased security of the app by requiring a refresh token instead of an access token for certain operations. This measure safeguards against the risk of a malicious party obtaining an access token to impersonate another user.
- Previously, our in-app portfolio analysis tool excluded tokens and assets representing less than 0.1% of the total portfolio value. However, following feedback from users with highly diversified portfolios who wanted visibility of these assets, we’ve lowered the threshold to 0.001%.
- Fixed a mistranslation for deleting key shards backed up in the cloud.
- Resolved a bug that caused incorrect NFT floor prices in the Collectibles’ Details Screen.
- Resolved an issue where the profile page would not show up for some users.
- Resolved an issue where swapping on the Arbitrum chain would fail.
- Fixed a bug where chat messages sent to you by someone whose previous chats have been deleted by you will not show up correctly.
- With the crypto market heating up again, scammers and hackers are more likely to show up. We added a new banner to our Explorer Tab to remind you to always do your due diligence.
