This club was started with the purpose of answering the question, “Who is KSU?”. The current state of the world has led students into isolation from one another, leaving little opportunity to express their emotions, and connect with their peers. College has always been a place where people have discovered themselves, found new interests, and met individuals they would have never met otherwise. While harder to do this now, it’s nowhere near impossible! If anything, these challenges have motivated many, including myself, to try harder than ever to build new relationships and develop new perspectives.

“How would this even blog help me if everything went back to normal?”

Regardless of the pandemic, creating a space where open conversation, love, support, and sometimes needed criticism, can develop people into their best self, regardless of the challenges around them. In the face of familial problems, relationship issues, and problems regarding school, having a support system to nudge you in the right direction can completely change someone’s life for the better. This is that support system. This is where you can hear and be heard. No one is excluded.

“suck it up and deal with it”

Society tells us this many times, but what is the best way to “deal with it” exactly? Many times in history, the best decisions stem from a collaborative effort. When you get multiple people on the same topic, what comes out of the conversation can be so much greater than just ones opinion. Someone who feels a certain about an issue can shift their opinion when given someone else’s views on it. Collaboration is what brings people to the truth. This also plays a role in emotions. When faced with negative thoughts, others can help present different perspectives that you might not have had previously. These new perspectives can give someone, who was previously hopeless in their thoughts, a different and more positive perspective.

Be yourself

Regardless what you will write about, I beg you; PLEASE BE TRUE TO YOURSELF! No ones looking to make sure you use big words, no one is expecting MLA format, or a works cited page. You will be doing a disservice to yourself to hide who you truly are. You don’t need an insane life story, or a Nobel prize to be amazing and unique. Authenticity always wins no matter what and you will be respected regardless.

Whether you’re passing by, or one of the members, I hope you this blog can help you in one way or another.
