The Carbon Ambassador Program has put forward the fourth (4) group of juvenile minds on successful completion of their training by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). DEWA has trained these young minds of the group on the utilization of Digital Ledger Technology (DLT) to support the ecosystem.

The group is encouraged by DEWA, the Dubai Carbon Centre of excellence and the United Nations Development Programme to work towards sustainable energy, climate change, and natural resource conservation.

The program makes sure that it equips the youth in the middle east to help keep a low carbon profile using modern technological infrastructure.

DEWA writes that Carbon Ambassadors are the people that will be taking care of the environment and keeping them up to date as the 4th batch being taught about digital ledger technology (DLT).

The training of these Carbon Ambassadors was held at DEWA Campus for Occupational Academic Development regarding blockchain and other technological constructs necessary for environment conservation.

DEWA further explained that the Carbon Ambassador Program will be incorporated into a bigger scheme in the future that empowers youth with modern technical knowledge.

The support for Emirates blockchain is also a key point on the list for this project. The Emirates blockchain plans to modernize the government transaction system to a blockchain oriented system by 2021 to make it more pliable.

Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA, commented that the initiative has trained about 180 Emirati youth on the blockchain technology.

This would, of course, benefit the Smart Dubai Project that Dubai had been working on to DLTify the system of transactions and liquidate the process. Dubai aims to be the first city with DLT running its economic sector and that may well become a reality by 2020.
