KU Business faculty receive recognition, accolades
Jide Wintoki, Capitol Federal Professor and associate dean of graduate programs, is one of the KU faculty and staff members who will conduct research and outreach activities as part of a new Gen-4 Engineering Research Center (ERC) — Environmentally Applied Refrigerant Technology Hub (EARTH) — that will create a sustainable and circular refrigerant economy. He also was part of the proposal development team. The National Science Foundation recently awarded KU $26 million to establish the ERC. KU is the lead institution and is joined by partners at the University of Notre Dame, University of Maryland, University of Hawai’i, University of South Dakota and Lehigh University.
Assistant professor of entrepreneurship Elizabeth Embry was named a Distinguished Research Fellow through the Dresden University of Technology (TU Dresden). Embry will receive a €10,000 grant as part of the yearlong fellowship to support her ongoing research on entrepreneurial innovation in the built environment to address climate change. She also presented to the UNU-FLORES in May as part of its Nexus Seminar Series connecting scholars with policymakers.
