Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) AND Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) Certification Program Tips and Tricks
In current IT technology eco-system Kubernetes is exploding and Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) AND Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) Certification Program rocking and add good weight and exposure on future and current jobs industry.
I recently on month June,2020 attended both CKA and CKAD certification program and have passed both Exam. First day took CKA and next day completed CKAD.
The Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) offers these two certification program, to demonstrate your Kubernetes skills in a hands-on, command-line environment.
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification for to perform the responsibilities of Kubernetes Administrators and Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) certification for Kubernetes application developers.
CKA is 3 hours exam consists of 24 tasks, CKAD is 2 hours exam consists of 19 tasks.
The basic per-requisites if you’re looking for the CKA / CKAD certifications is, You should be very familiar with Linux, specially Ubuntu and Redhat Linux bash terminal. If you’re never touched Linux, definitely it will very tough for you.
The privileges for to do this CKA / CKAD certifications are:
1. Online Exam, You can do at home, but proctors will closely monitor us via webcam and audio.
2. You have access to open https://kubernetes.io/docs/, https://github.com/kubernetes/,https://kubernetes.io/blog/ at one tab on Chrome browser.
3. Free retake ( if you fail)
Ok, How I prepared for both CKA and CKAD exams?
My first source was Kubernetes in Action, Book by “Marko Luksa” and second source https://kubernetes.io/docs/.
My tips or recommend:-
1. “ kubectl “ — be familiar with this command on how to create resources with --dry-run -o yaml
2. learn kubeadm and etcdctl commands with options.
3. Basic understand of Yaml coding.
