KubOS 1.8 Shell into your Satellite
This release of KubOS brings another round of bug fixes, new hardware support, and core service improvements! We’ve added new features to the mission application service, improved the file service, and taken another step in making KubOS the backbone that runs your mission.
Shell Service
A new shell service has been added to the system. We’ve rewritten it in Rust, allowing it to be the next component of KubOS that gets to leverage the power, safety, and efficiency of the Rust language. We’ve also spoken to several satellite operators and users of KubOS to take into account the unique constraints of the space environment. This makes sure that you have the power to recover and control your system no matter your link characteristics. Try it on your OBC!
New Hardware
The Pumpkin Motherboard Module 2’s (MBM2) real time clock (RTC) is now automatically supported in KubOS, allowing you to take yet another piece of hardware out of your mission development roadmap.
