Mini-Hackathon on “Smart City | City Solutions”
Venue: DOCSE, Kathmandu University
Date: 21 September, 3 PM to 22 September 4 PM
Kathmandu University Open Source Community (KUOSC) an autonomous wing of Kathmandu University Computer Club, DoCSE, organized a 24-hour hackathon on the theme “Smart City | City Solutions” sponsored by Enliv Information Technologies.
There were 7 teams, each consisting of either 2 or 3 members. Every team came up with great ideas and every one of them implemented those ideas in an innovative way regardless of the time limit.
Following were the teams who participated from three different colleges and universities, including the host Kathmandu University.

Umesh KC and Abishek Bashyal of Team Extropia, studying Computer Engineering, first year in Kathmandu University were the winners of the event.
Projects were evaluated via Presentation, Demo and Q&A at the end of the Hackathon. Projects were evaluated by our Jury panels( two from the sponsor organization Enliv Information Technologies and one from KU Alumni, Past KUOSC Coordinator Mr. Sanjog Sigdel)
All of the seven ideas were creative and demoed. Two of the ideas “Home Automation” by Team Mystic & “Smart Automation of Vehicles in Identifying Potholes” by Team Extropia were selected for award. Team Extropia ranked the first position with a total score of 39/50. Team Mystic secures the position of Runner Up with a total score of 37/50.
Winners and runner up were awarded with certificates and cash prize sponsored by Enliv Information Technologies.
This is the first ever internal hackathon organized by Kathmandu University Computer. So on behalf of KUCC we would like to thank all active volunteers of our Proactive community Kathmandu University Open Source Community #KUOSC who executed this event as a grand success.
