Today, winners of the recently concluded Mobo Game Jam, a global game-making competition encouraging 8–18-year-olds to design games imagining a future where everyone has access to clean water, were awarded.

The jam, which was created Kucheza Gaming in partnership with Ukie’s Digital Schoolhouse, Union Bank’s Edu360, Into Games and WaterAid encouraged young people from across the world to create prototype games digitally or on paper.

Over 1000 registrations from the UK and Nigeria were whittled down to 12 finalists, with submissions competing in a range of age groups in the final showcase on Monday 22 March, World Water Day!

👑 12–14 year olds — Samuel, for the game “Race to Water”

👑 15–18 year olds — Obi, for the game “Aqua”

Thanks to our amazing partners, each winner received a high-end gaming Laptop thanks to intel, a cash prize of N350,000, certificate of participation and swag.

At Kucheza Gaming, we are on a mission to unlock the economic and educational value of video games by exposing and engaging kids, teens and schools in esports, video gaming, play-based learning and game design.

The Mobo Game Jam allows children to channel the passion they have for video games towards solving social issues in a creative and immersive way.

Watch out for Mobo Game Jam 2021!
