Rooftop Dance Party with YANGA

La Junta in DTLA

Last Sunday on July 24th, YANGA performed during the beautiful sunset on the rooftop of Don Chente in DTLA. This was the kickoff event for the new location of La Junta, a series of dance parties organized by three DJs (@degruvme, @yukicito, @GlennRed). They outgrew their previous space in Alhambra, and are continuing the global grooves across the street from the Staples Center, with more room to get down and dance.

YANGA got everyone on the grassy dance floor, with their energetic and hypnotic rhythms. Their Afro-Colombian and cumbia stylings pulled in everyone to move their bodies, creating positive energy and good times. Members of YANGA are seasoned musicians who have traveled internationally, and who are involved in multiple projects. Their set on Sunday also featured many guest musicians, including Richi Panta (of Very Be Careful), Ulises Rodriguez (of El Santo Golpe), and Alberto Lopez (of Jungle Fire, and who recorded/mixed the QUITAPENAS album). Definitely más tropical!
