Upgrading your First Kudi Card Experience

Dear First Kudi Community,

When we launched the First Kudi Verve Card powered by Ferrum Network in December 2019, we took one step closer towards mass adoption. For the last 7 months, our users have enjoyed the benefits of a debit card integrated app, offering the ability to withdraw the Naira (NGN) directly to the Verve card, and use that card wherever Verve was accepted. While the response has been tremendous, we felt our users still deserved something better.

An International Customer Needs an International Card

Many of our customers are international travelers and the Verve card, being local in scope, simply did not satisfy their needs. Therefore, we have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to bring our users an upgraded First Kudi card.

In the next few days we will reveal the details surrounding our new Kudi Card — integrated with and issued through a world renown financial services company.

In this article we wanted to prepare our users that we will be phasing out the First Kudi Verve Card and explain what that means for those who already have the Verve Card.

Notice to Withdraw Funds from Verve Card in 7 Days

In 7 days from now, our agreement with Verve card will end. All users have until June 23rd to withdraw funds from the Verve card. Please go to any local ATM and withdraw all funds to cash, or use at any Local POS where Verve is accepted and expire all remaining funds. We will make numerous announcements over the coming week to remind our customers.

No New Orders for Verve Cards

As we are phasing out the Verve card this week, we will not be accepting any new orders for the Verve card. Any orders in process will not be shipped, but you will be shipped a replacement card through the new issuer. More details on that process to follow.

Also, for those who have yet to receive a Verve Card (but previously ordered it), please wait for announcement and details on the new First Kudi Card.

Increasing FRM Limits

Many users liked to order the Verve card in order to increase their FRM limits on the app. We will now replace this requirement with a simple requirement — in order to increase your FRM limits, you must qualify for the referral program. This will be in effect until new card system is announced.

What’s Next

In the coming days, we will announce the details surrounding the new First Kudi card — how it works, where it works, how to obtain it, and all other pertinent details.

At this time, we kindly ask that our users begin withdrawing their funds from the Verve card in anticipation of the new integration and card issuance.
