Kareem Soenharjo the Jakarta’s musical prodigy is once again proving his prolificacy by releasing yet another full-length project, this time with his BAP. moniker. MOMO’S MYSTERIOUS SKIN is the title of the project’s sophomore record, following the critically acclaimed Monkshood which was released 3 years ago.

The album showcases 33 minutes full of eclectic and experimental hip hop music, with diverse instrumentals and guests ranging from Isiah of ENVY’s fame to his BAPAK.’s bandmate Alfath Arya (aka Flowr Pit).

What’s also fascinating is the fact that Kareem embraces his love for Indonesian music on this record by making use of samples from the nation’s various significant acts.

MOMO’S MYSTERIOUS SKIN is a proof that Indonesia also has a hip-hop act that deserves the same recognition as other modern hip-hop experimentalists from the western world like Billy Woods, Milo, Aesop Rock and Earl Sweatshirt.

The record is out now on La Munai. Go grab the deluxe edition of the physical copy on La Munai’s website or you can also buy the digital version via The Store Front Club.
