Today, I joined CNN’s Dana Bash for a live Facebook chat about Healing Children and pediatric medicine. We covered a range of topics, including what parents should know and what they can do to get the best possible care for their kids.

One of the essential tips I shared is that parents should be proactive and learn in advance where the nearest pediatric specialty center or children’s hospital is located. You don’t have to wait until a crisis to get informed.

Parents can also be empowered to advocate for their children. If an ambulance is taking your child to an emergency room, you can ask the first responders to bring your child to a children’s hospital. (Watch the full interview for more tips on how to get the best health care for your kids.)

While I was at the CNN studios, I stopped by for a quick visit and chat with CNN political anchor Wolf Blitzer to talk about the importance of pediatric specialty care, hospitals, and providers for kids.
