Sometimes you’ll wake up and realise it yourself. Your mouth stinks. Yuck.

What Causes It

When you sleep, your mouth because of its wet and warm environment, serves as the perfect breeding ground for bacteria. Couple that with any potential gum disease, poor cleaning habits and you’re hit by a disgusting whiff in the morning.

How to Fix it

Brush your teeth at night. And do it well.

This is simple, but not often followed. Any food trappings (because you don’t floss) will make it worst.

Be More Hydrated

Mouthwash

This only works, so long as the previous steps have been followed. You can’t be rinsing all day now.

See a dentist

Sometimes if the smell persists even after you’ve followed the above steps may mean there’s possibly something else going on. It could be from simply mouth breathing, or tartar in places you cannot see, or even a cavity.

Do you experience bad breath (halitosis) in the morning? What have you done to resolve it?
