Aaron Paul

Age: 19

Profession: Student

Hometown: Toronto, Canada

University: University of Waterloo

Fun Fact: Founder of Tylt Go (https://www.tyltgo.ca/)

For Tyltgo’s 19 year-old founder Aaron Paul, entrepreneurship began in high school, where Paul would sell course notes to his classmates, followed by an unsurprisingly lengthy conversation with his mother.

An alumnus of All Saints Catholic School in Ontario, Canada, Paul was extensively involved in various activities alongside academics, including serving as the Student Trustee of his school board, representing 21,500 students at the provincial level. As a delegate in his high school’s Model United Nations (UN) team, he trained his public speaking, debating, and writing skills and honed in on his critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.

Paul’s mantra of “Discovery of a need followed by validation” led him to embark on a journey of continuous observation of problems and creation of viable solutions.

Aaron recalls, “My high school café used to sell these unappealing pizza slices at a high cost. It was then that I sensed a business opportunity and began ordering pizzas in bulk and selling it at a small premium at our café.” It was around this time one of his friend’s dad advised him to read “The Lean Startup” to which he credits its concept of “The Pivot” for much of his success.

He matriculated at Ontario’s renowned tech-oriented University of Waterloo, where he was awarded a merit scholarship and is currently pursuing BASc in Honours Management Engineering. “It was the co-op at UWaterloo, which attracted me, and I went to do my first co-op at OpenText as a Full-stack developer.”

Paul’s fixation on entrepreneurship followed him to university, where he founded Tyltgo, an affordable delivery platform focusing on a wide variety of merchants, stores, restaurants & businesses. Ambitious, Paul has his vision set on expanding Tyltgo’s operations at a provincial level and take in at least $1 million in revenue by mid-2021.

Paul explains, “One should focus on the process of reaching their goal and the goal itself will come as a by-product.”
