There is no freedom from oppression without violence. Those who have been denied the right to exist freely must never be comfortable in the safety that is found in erasure.
In a fascist world were extremism of ideologies produces oppression, the oppressed must never be complacent with the status quo.
Bob Marley once sang, ‘Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds’.
The greatest sacrifice is of self, so that the minority and oppressed may exist without fear.
We are all pilgrims on earth, we will all eventually become one with the soil- It is inevitable.
Rejection and fear are part of the process but never let them control your decision-making ability.
Remember, never be complacent with the status quo. Change agents dare to conquer that which is difficult.
Tears, sweat and blood are all but the precursor of a better life to come.
Stand strong and let your voice be heard.
This is for all the young boys and girls fighting inner battles and scared of having their thoughts and voices be heard.
This is for the young man and woman, born in a body that they know is not theirs.
This is for the social misfits who cannot love in the same way.
This is for all those who succumbed to the pressure and feel they do not have a way out.
This is for all those who could not hold on and ended it all.
This is for all those rejected by their loved ones who found hope and a home with their chosen families.
This is to new bonds that bind and rebellions that build.
This is to the young woman told she cannot dream big because she will scare suitors away.
This is to a girl child who became collateral damage and was sold into the institution called marriage.
This is to the boy child who was told boys cannot be raped and was told to be silent.
This is to PRIDE and this is to equality of both process and outcomes.
Remember you are more than what scares you.
