StakeWise Collaborates with MetaMask to Launch Pooled Staking

StakeWise has partnered with MetaMask to launch MetaMask Pooled Staking, enabling users to stake any amount of ETH directly from their wallets. Initially available outside the US and UK, this integration uses StakeWise’s modular architecture for a seamless and secure staking experience. The partnership enhances user experience by configuring and deploying a dedicated staking Vault. Additionally, StakeWise offers optional access to liquidity and DeFi protocols through osETH, aiming to expand collaborations with node operators, wallets, exchanges, and custodians to streamline Ethereum staking worldwide.

Cosmos

Revamped Babylon x Cosmos Hub ADR

The Babylon x Cosmos Hub integration aims to enhance security by incorporating Bitcoin security into the Cosmos Hub using a new CosmWasm contract developed by Babylon, eliminating the need for Slinky. The integration, pending governance approval, will initially not offer inflation rewards for Bitcoin delegators. This upgrade positions the Hub as a prominent Bitcoin Layer 2 launchpad, attracting significant community interest. ICS consumer chains will adopt Babylon’s security model, with ATOM securing the primary validator set and finality providers adding extra security. Testing will occur on the Cosmos Hub testnet connected to Babylon’s Euphrates devnet, with a future governance proposal to activate the Babylon contract on the Hub. The dual quorum approach offers an optional security layer but is constrained by current IBC limitations. Benefits include attracting Bitcoin L2 launches and no additional workload for Hub validators, while finality providers cannot compromise the Hub’s security directly.

Cosmos Hub May 2024 Update: Gaia Upgrades & Interchain Security Enhancements

In May 2024, the Cosmos Hub saw significant updates with the integration of Gaia v16, v17, and v18, along with advancements in Interchain Security (ICS). Gaia v16 enhanced IBC with rate limiting, ICA controller, and fee middleware for safer token transfers. Gaia v17 introduced ICS 2.0, enabling consumer chains to opt-in validators and added power shaping for validator flexibility. Gaia v18 started integrating permissioned CosmWasm and a feemarket module for dynamic transaction fees, with expedited governance proposals planned. Additionally, a new feature allowing inactive Hub validators to validate consumer chains was developed, boosting network participation. The launch of Hydro for liquidity governance allowed ATOM holders to influence liquidity deployments across projects. Security was bolstered through power mixing and integrating Babylon for Bitcoin security. These updates aim to enhance security, governance efficiency, and economic growth on the Cosmos Hub.
