We’re excited to launch the official blog of Los Angeles Chinese Film Festival right here on Medium!

The inaugural Los Angeles Chinese Film Festival (LACFF) will take place in Los Angeles from November 17th-19th, 2017 at the Downtown Independent. The goal of LACFF is to uncover and promote excellent Chinese language and Chinese culture-focused films to foster cultural exchange through screenings and other activities. With this mission in mind, the programming committee is dedicated to finding high-quality original films from all over the world, emphasizing the Chinese-speaking/heritage community. LACFF extends a special welcome to newcomers and independent filmmakers, and serves as a cradle for independent Chinese cinema.

As we await the start of the festival, this blog will be regularly updated with interviews with our jury members, writings from academics on Chinese cinema as well as film reviews.
