Just as the Louis Vuitton X Supreme collection drops down, Helmut Lang unveils collaboration with hip hip artist and producer, Travis Scott.

The capsule collection, inclusive of nineteen pieces from trainers to denim jackets, Travis Scott’s use of graphics goes hand in hand with Helmut Lang’s signature clean silhouette.Talking about his venture into fashion, “I’m not in it to get to the top in the fashion industry — I was asked by the Helmut Lang team to create this collection and was honored. But I just wanted to curate something for the kids, and the way it all came out it’s definitely lit.” And Travis Scott’s consideration of ‘the kids’ is seen throughout, with familiar artwork from the artist’s albums, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight and Rodeo, the collection is guaranteed to gain the interest of not only Travis Scott followers, but steetwear fanatics.

With the likes of OFF-WHITE and Vetements being some of the most anticipated collections, street wear is fast infiltrating the designer world and rewriting what is expected of the term ‘luxury’ — ‘luxury’ is becoming accessible. Although, streetwear is an exclusive market in it’s own right, the combination of two exclusivities creates pieces doubly sought after. Designer/streetwear collaborations seem to be a very organic progression in fashion.

Streetwear is enthused by street culture, tipping the natural fashion hierarchy on it’s head as it tickles up the fashion rankings. With the success of such collaborations, it ultimately leaves us curious about who will come together next.
